The project consisted in the implementation of a project and portfolio management solution based on IT Governance from Mercury Interactive. In this project it had to be implemented the testing department's workflow, to optimize the current workflow and synchronize it with the work of other departments. The customer also needed a very good image regarding the team's activity thus it has been developed and implemented an extensive set of KPI's and monitors which offered any information regarding projects (closed and ongoing) within seconds. The level of detail is deep enough to provide information regarding the activity of resources. The KPI's are structured and aggregated in such manner that the testing management team is alerted immediately as a problem appears in any of their projects, allowing managers to start from a high level indicator and drill down to the source of the problem. The system requires a minimal input from tester's part and the interface is easy to use guiding the users in each step of the evolution of a project reminding them the tasks they have to complete and providing reports helping them to better manage their activity. This project saved time for this testing team by creating real time reports thus avoiding useless meetings and hours spent by manually creating reports. It also standardized the team's activity allowing them to have more control over the processing and improving the quality of their work.
